Hannah and Jason have rocked this! We immediately loved the vibe walking in, greeted genuinely and seated in a classy spot with an open kitchen. There is no sign outside currently, on back order but this spot will gain attention through word of mouth alone! Chalkboard menu with mostly small plates and a few entrees, but we've noticed that it changes most of the choices. Started with the trout cake and started with a perfect bite, spicy aoli to die for. Each crushed a pork belly bao, wow! Incredible bite, we were moaning like porn stars. We shared a crispy chicken parm that sat on a delectable creamy fresh noodle and a crispy broccoli. I thought, how can crispy veg be decent? Well, this is dynamite! Sesame and a sweet drizzle makes this such a fun way to enjoy your greens. We wanted to try one of the delicious desserts but we're just stuffed. Good news is it's close and we will be back lots!

Addition to my initial review: On our second visit to Bar Galgo, we were thrilled to find even more unique, fresh and delicious dishes on the chalkboard menu. From the enticing cocktails, the calamari appetizer (the best we have EVER had), the entrees (that were flavourful and delicately balanced), to the sparkler on my dessert…. each course brought a wealth of culinary surprises that were thoroughly enjoyed. Till we meet again! The moment we walked into Bar Galgo, we were greeted by the hostess who showed us to our lovely table (it had a view of the open kitchen). The decor is fun and trendy (I really enjoyed looking at the framed photos of the dogs!). The cocktails were unique and enjoyable. The chalkboard menu was clearly marked with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.The small plates and entrees were made with good quality, fresh, mostly local ingredients. The chef was able to adjust my entree to suit my dietary requirements. It was fantastic without feeling like something was missing. Bar Galgo is a gem and we will certainly be back soon.
Such a great vibe from the moment you walk in! Jason welcomed us with open arms a bit before even being open. The drinks where outstanding - local breweries offered on the menu. I love the local, farm to table experience that he offers. The food … OUTSTANDING! He literally cut the potatoes up in front of us for the waffle fries we ordered. And the taste, come in and try everything! We had the crispy broccoli, prosciutto asparagus, Brussels and waffle fries. Every day is a new offering, but you MUST make the venture out to Bar Galgo!! So worth the meal here
Bar Galgo is an absolute gem in the small town of Dorchester! The atmosphere is fantastic, but what truly sets this place apart is the lovely, welcoming owners who make you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door.The food is absolutely amazing—honestly, I am still thinking about the food weeks later and cannot wait to go back for more. They also serve up fantastic, high-quality cocktails that perfectly complement the menu. If you are anywhere near Dorchester, do yourself a favour and check this spot out. Five stars all the way!
