These are the terms that govern your use of the Forest City Insider website. They are written in plain language. They are not a substitute for legal advice.

The deal

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Hometown Legend ("we" / "us") owns and operates this site.

What you can do on the site

• Browse any content we publish, including our business directory.
• Use our business directory.
• Subscribe to our newsletter.
• Claim a business listing you own.
• Pay for Pro if you operate a business and want the upgraded profile.
• Send us a tip or a correction.

What you should not do

• Scrape or republish our content wholesale. Linking and short quotation are fine; bulk reuse is not. Our AI Crawler Policy describes our stance on machine reading separately.
• Submit false claims to ownership of a business you do not own.
• Submit malicious content, spam, or material that violates someone else's rights.
• Try to interfere with the site's normal operation (e.g. probing for vulnerabilities, denial of service).

Content you submit

When you submit content to us (tips, claim messages, photos sent for a profile), you grant us a non-exclusive license to use it for editorial and operational purposes. You keep ownership of your own content. We may decline to publish anything for any reason.

Content we publish

Any articles, guides, or directory descriptions we publish are copyrighted by Hometown Legend unless otherwise noted. We allow short quotation and linking. We do not allow wholesale republication without permission.

Pro subscriptions and billing

Pro is a paid subscription processed by Stripe. Pricing, billing intervals, and refund eligibility are stated at checkout. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. To cancel, use the link in your billing email or contact us. We do not store card details; Stripe handles payment processing.

Third-party services

We use third parties to operate this site: Beehiiv for newsletter delivery, Stripe for payments, Web3Forms for form relay, our hosting provider for serving the site, and our database provider for storing operator and subscriber records. Their terms apply where you interact with their services.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is." We work hard to be accurate, but we make no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hometown Legend is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario sitting in London, Ontario.

Changes

When we change these terms, we update the "Last reviewed" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in our newsletter.
