First time in London Ontario and as I was walking around discovering, I stood in front of La Cucina and immediately decided to go in and have supper. I am so glad I did. Everything was excellent from beginning to end. Had a Neapolitan pizza and was blown away by the taste and quality. The pizza is made in a wood fired oven and the results are incredible. What I appreciated was that while sitting, you see their process from beginning to end playing on the two screens. Essentially, almost everything is made from scratch. Service was attentive and excellent. Would definitely come here again.
We drive an hour and 15 minutes from Bayfield to go to this restaurant. It never disappoints. Tonight we had Caesar salads, pizza and a mushroom pasta dish. All the food was excellent. Our compliments to the chef. Great place to go for authentic Italian food.
The restaurant is super nice, the decoration is fabulous, the pizza is very tasty and not to mention the dessert a crazy delicious thing
Recently went to celebrate my five year anniversary. I want to start by saying the pizza was very good and my partner enjoyed it a lot. I had a pasta and did not enjoy that.
However, the service was not good. My partners plate came out way before mine. We had no drink refills even after we asked and the parmesan came out after my pasta began to go cold. I would try another location just due to the fact the pizza was very good.
The food was phenomenal, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed what could have been a great dining experience.
We chose this restaurant because it advertised being open until midnight, and we arrived for dinner around 8:15 p.m., expecting a relaxed evening. Instead, everything felt incredibly rushed. Our appetizers had only been on the table for a few minutes before our mains arrived, leaving us with multiple courses at once. Before we had even finished eating, our server asked if we wanted boxes to take our food home while we were still actively eating.
At the start of the meal, we mentioned that we wanted dessert at the end. Instead, dessert was brought out while we were still eating our dinner because we were told the kitchen was closing. It made the entire experience feel rushed rather than enjoyable. To make things even more confusing, another table that was seated after us was still ordering food after we had been told the kitchen was closing.
There were also several small details that didn’t reflect the standard you’d expect from a nice Italian restaurant, including dirty water glasses and service that felt impersonal.
It’s unfortunate because the quality of the food was excellent, but dining out is about the overall experience. We were hoping for a relaxed, romantic dinner, yet it felt like we were being hurried out the door despite arriving well before the posted closing time. I would happily return for the food if the service and pacing of the meal were improved.
