We really love this place but the hours never match what it says online. Especially at the end of day when we’re leaving daycare the kids get excited and want to grab snacks but then they’re closed with no sign or notice as to why they’re close early ALL THE TIME.
I’m usually not the one to write reviews unless businesses are exceptionally well or horrible. What i saw yesterday on September 24th, at around 8:00-8:30pm was something i have never seen before in Activity Plex or really anywhere. 5 Kids, who look around 16 years of age, came into Activity Plex holding food from Dominos, and one of the girls proceeded to grab a chair from the cafe because the table they wanted to sit at which was across from the cafe only had 4 chairs and there were 5 of them. I want to clarify that I always see teens of all ages at Activity Plex who come to socialize or sit and eat. A lady dressed in all black with red hair says to the girl, “you can put that chair back”. The girl and her friends obviously seem confused and were asking her why they couldn’t use the chair and were being respectful about it. The lady with the red hair proceeds to say she is the owner of the cafe and that the kids shouldn’t be here at all and does this in such a rude manner. The kids put the chair back and after they finished their meal they go up to the owner simply trying to tell her respectfully that how she acted wasn’t okay. Before the kids can even finish their sentence she cuts them off and comes up to them yelling at them to get out of Activity Plex. The kids were standing up for themselves and saying her behaviour is ridiculous. I’ve never seen this type of behaviour from an adult to LITERAL KIDS. I will no longer be supporting this establishment and I hope people take the time to read this review. Shame on the owner for trying to step all over the kids, she should know how to act with being a business owner.
Owner profiles teenagers for just being in the building. The owner thinks she owns the entire building and is entitled when it comes to being nice to teenagers. Girl tried to grab a chair to sit with her friends and the owner wasn’t even nice when asking her to put it back, even telling them “why do i have to be nice” I don’t know maybe because your a business owner? Kids are profiled so much for just being present, maybe this is why so many of them suffer with mental health problems.. because adults don’t give them a chance to speak they are just automatically profiled for being bad. Adults should represent a good example of themselves instead of treating teens with disrespect, it’s sad i don’t recommend coming here.
I arrived at activity plex hoping to have a peaceful evening eating with my friends, which i’ve been doing here WITHOUT troubles. My friend pulled a chair from the table to sit with us, the owner of this cafe then rudely said “You can put my chair back” and continued to argue with my friend who is a minor. We asked her why didn’t she just ask nicely and she replied with “Why would i have to be nice” If you come here expect to be treated with poor customer service skills, which i noticed is a trend here. If i could give this place a 0 i would.
Confronted owner about rude service, the owner steps out of the cashier area and starts coming up to us yelling at us to get out. Still screaming at us, this huge man comes up to me and begins stepping up to me, looking like he might hit me. I say “Don’t come up on me” the man replies “What are you gonna do about it?”, for clarification i am 16 years old. I was genuinely scared for my safety and the risk of him touching me. Police should have been called, please avoid this place at all times, for your safety and mine.
