Churis Bread

I will admit to only being here one time… one time SO FAR!. I loved it here, beautiful and small but cosy atmosphere. Smells like all the delicious breads they bake, customer service was beyond good. I was even early by a maybe 3 minutes or so but was welcomed in anyways!. Coffee was much better than a Tim Hortons or Starbucks, and the bagel with cream cheese was somehow more tasty than it should have been. Honestly they won me over and I think tomorrow I may go again for their Monday opening. Thanks for the great experience Churis staff.

The most delicious and fresh bread in the city, with different styles and flavours.

We were looking for British scones which are not iced. They had a good selection of flavours, and the three types that we got were absolutely delicious. Didn't even need to put butter or jam on them. We got them to take out so we didn't experience the atmosphere. The person who gave us our scones was delightful.

They have great products. The bread is really good. My problem with the bakery is the hours of operation. I work 9-5 and so does the bakery. That means I can never visit them during the week. It is also disappointing when you go there at noon on a Saturday and they are out of bread, makes no sense. I think they need to learn the business part of it because they already perfected the product quality.

I've found Churis to be very inconsistent, at their Hyde Park location. They have a few decent items, like their sandwich breads and buns. I recently enjoyed an excellent macchiato on two different occasions, but when I went today I ended up with what tasted like hot milk and without any espresso! The barista had put waaaay too much milk for a macchiato. I ended up being unable to drink it. Would not recommend Churis unless you have no other options.

After a bad experience with the counter staff a few months ago. I decided to take a break from visiting Churis. Went back today and the grumpy miserable counter staff is still there. She can really make your visit unpleasant. If you ask about a certain item, you'll get a reply that she's "too busy" to bring them out so people can buy them. Because of the appalling service, I won't be going back.
